Prime Minister evaluates Gaganyaan mission, declares Indian Space Station initiative

ISRO is preparing for upcoming missions, including Gaganyaan, following the achievements of the Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya-L1 missions. Gaganyaan is a manned mission that aims to transport humans 400 kilometers above Earth and safely return them by landing in the Indian Ocean. The Gaganyaan mission is scheduled for October 21, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently held a high-level meeting to discuss the mission’s details and his vision for a future Indian Space Station.

According to a release shared by the Press Information Office, the Space Ministry presented a comprehensive overview of the Gaganyaan mission, including various technologies developed so far, such as human-classified launch vehicles and system qualification. It was also reported that a total of 20 major tests will be conducted, including 3 unmanned flights for the Human Rated Launch Vehicle (HLVM3).

Further, the Prime Minister addressed the meeting stating that India now needs to move forward and focus on new goals of developing “Bharatiya Antariksha Station” (Indian Space Station) by 2035 and sending the first Indian to the Moon by 2040.

It has also been reported that to meet the new goals, the space ministry needs to outline a plan with multiple lunar missions and the development of a new generation launch vehicle (NGLV) that will create human-centric laboratories and advanced laboratories. technologies that can support the new goals of the future space mission.
