Apple Reveals Tips For Quickly Charging Your iPhone
Apple bringing the iPhone 15 series got people excited for a number of reasons, both of which were connected to the debut of the USB C port. Thanks to this charging port, you can use multiple accessories without having to constantly use the iPhone charger. More importantly, iPhone 15 with USB C means you get fast charging support.
And now Apple has shared tips on how to get the best charging speed for your iPhone. Interestingly, Apple says that all iPhones, whether it’s the latest iPhone 15 Pro or the older iPhone 12, support the same standard and meet the charging requirements. So when we say fast charging when it comes to iPhone, what does that really mean?
Apple claims that any iPhone model starting with the iPhone 8 (yes, really) will give you a 50 percent battery charge in 30 minutes. However, Apple has a few riders that meet this criteria, which means using an 18W charging adapter or better. If you have an iPhone 12 or later, the charging bar needs to offer a speed of 20W to get the same charging time for a 50 percent battery.
The company also clearly states that using a super fast charger means nothing when charging an iPhone, as its speed is limited to the numbers stated on Apple’s website and product catalog.
Apple says to do this to charge your iPhone 15 quickly
Apple notes that iPhone fast charging may not work if the weather is too cold or too hot. People can check the wattage of their iPhone charger which is indicated on the top and bottom of the adapter. The company explains that you won’t see fast charging written on an iPhone like you can on an Android phone.
Although Apple says iPhones charge to 50% in half an hour, you may see the charging speed drop after that. This is basically done to keep the battery healthy and to get more charge cycles out of your iPhone battery.
While fast charging is available with wired charging for iPhones, you can’t say the same for wirelessly charged iPhones, which don’t exceed 15 watts, as the company notes. You’ll also need special wireless accessories to get the most out of your iPhone’s charging limits.
