iPhone SE 4: A Blast from the Future!
US-based tech giant Apple is reportedly working on an affordable fourth-generation iPhone SE, which is expected to launch in 2025. Past leaks have suggested that Apple could make major changes to the iPhone SE 4.
According to MacRumors, Apple is finally going to ditch the aging iPhone 8-style design used in the previous two iPhone SE generations. Instead, the iPhone SE 4 has a more modern look and a larger screen size that closely resembles the base model iPhone 14.
The iPhone SE 4 uses a modified version of the current iPhone 14 case. New information from MacRumors revealed that the iPhone SE 4 will look like the iPhone 14 with a flat design and no Touch ID home button. Instead, it’s designed to be full-screen and uses Face ID to unlock.
According to the report, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to be around 6 grams lighter than the iPhone 14 and weigh 165 grams. The change in weight is likely due to the single-camera design Apple envisioned for the device.
Unlike the iPhone 14, the iPhone SE 4 features a single 48-megapixel rear camera developed under the code name “Portland” and a custom backplate for the device to accommodate the design change.
The decision to use a single camera design is in line with all previous iPhone SE models, and the flash is also in the same position. Apart from the design of the single camera, no other significant factor could affect the weight of the iPhone SE 4.
“No material changes are expected, as the fourth-generation iPhone SE will use the same 6013 T6 aluminum found in the iPhone 14, along with a glass back,” MacRumors said.
Prototypes of the iPhone SE 4 have been seen in a black color that closely resembles the Midnight color option available for the iPhone 14, suggesting that black will be one of the color options Apple plans to offer with the fourth-generation iPhone SE.
