iPhone Users Can Expect ‘Good News’ from Apple

Apple is preparing a new iOS 17.2 version that will bring interesting features to iPhone 15 and 15 Pro users, but the good news is that even older iPhones will get new features with the next iOS update.

And before the public version of iOS 17.2 is released, Apple will use the help of developers to fix the problems in the beta version of iOS 17.2. Recently, we talked about the new features that iPhone users can expect with the iOS 17.2 update, but now it seems that even users with iPhones that are 2 or 3 years old are activating and improving existing features. iPhone 13 or iPhone 14 users will be excited to learn that their models offer faster charging speeds even in wireless mode.

As you may know, the latest wireless charging standard is Qi2, which offers charging speeds up to 15W. Most older wireless-compatible iPhones only charge at 7.5 watts, but after the iOS 17.2 update, they charge faster.

Details of these changes have been spotted in the last public update for iOS 17.2, which talks about Qi2 charging support for older iPhones. You might say that going from 7.5 watts to 15 watts is hardly an upgrade, but for those still using the iPhone 13 or 14, this is a free upgrade they didn’t see coming.

Apple hasn’t confirmed that Qi2 charging speeds on these older iPhones will be the same as the newer models, but we’d be surprised if the improvements are negligible on the charging front. In any case, support for Qi2 charging also means that the iPhone 13 and 14 models are compatible with MagSafe-like features without having to spend extra MagSafe chargers.

In most cases, Apple users spend more on new features or additions, but we’re eager to see how this iOS 17.2 update works out for people who are still holding on to their old iPhones.
