Some iPhone 12 mini owners report unresponsive lock screens
Apple’s smaller and larger iPhones have been on sale recently – the iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max and it looks like the former is struggling.
Some early iPhone 12 Mini buyers have reported issues with their new phone. Users took to Reddit, MacRumors, and Apple’s forum to report that the iPhone 12 Mini’s touchscreen was partially unresponsive on the lock screen,
Users reportedly had difficulty launching the camera, flashlight, and even swiping to unlock the phone with their thumbs. If the other fingers work, that’s not good news for a phone that was primarily designed to be used with one hand.
A few users believe that the problem could be with conduction or grounding. The issue appears to be resolved in some cases when the phone is plugged in or used without the case.
Apple has yet to comment on this and it is unclear just how “widespread” this problem could be. But with so many people complaining, this is clearly not an isolated incident. Whatever the reason for the problem, it’s not good news for the iPhone that many Apple fans consider a “standout model” in the new lineup.
