Business Insider reports that Microsoft has internally launched Copilot to enhance developers’ adoption of AI.
According to a report from Business Insider on Wednesday, Microsoft is introducing the Microsoft 365 Copilot tool in an effort to encourage greater adoption of artificial intelligence among its employees.
The company has been conducting pilot tests to increase the use of artificial intelligence tools among its developer community and was planning a broader rollout of Microsoft 365 to its teams for the first time, the report cited an internal message.
Microsoft did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
The company’s investments and partnership with OpenAI, along with its fast-growing cloud business driven by customers looking to build AI applications, have made Microsoft the world’s most valuable company, overtaking Apple.
The Copilot tool is Microsoft’s generative AI assistant built on OpenAI’s large language models. The Microsoft 365 Copilot product is an iteration of the tool in the company’s productivity suite, which includes Word, Outlook and Teams.
In November, Microsoft began selling Copilot, an AI assistant that can summarize an email inbox or create a slideshow, for $30 a month.
