Samsung to Highlight Foldable Devices at July Unpacked Event

In the past, Samsung has organized Unpacked in various major cities worldwide, beginning with Las Vegas in 2010. However, the company has never held the event in its home country’s capital city. Recently, the tech giant revealed that it will be hosting Unpacked in Seoul for the first time, although no specific date has been set yet. The event will take place in late July at COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam, and Samsung plans to unveil its next-generation foldable devices. This suggests that the Galaxy Flip 5 and the Galaxy Fold 5 will most likely be showcased.

“Soul was chosen this year because it has influenced global trends with its dynamic culture and innovation, while also reflecting Samsung’s strong confidence in the foldable category,” the company wrote in a statement.

According to the latest rumors, the Galaxy Flip 5 may have a larger external display, as well as a new hinge design that will make its screen creasing less noticeable. It is also said to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, just like the Galaxy S23. The Galaxy Fold 5 is also rumored to have a new hinge design that eliminates the gap of its predecessor, ensures that both sides are evenly folded, and makes screen creasing less noticeable. The device can also be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

We have less than two months to find out if these rumors are true – we’ll let you know when Samsung announces a specific date for the event.
