Oppo Find X3 will launch with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G next year
Oppo today announced the launch of the next Find X series smartphone with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chipset. Oppo will join Realme and Xiaomi to launch one of the first phones with the new flagship chipset.
The flagship smartphone Oppo Find X3 will also launch with the company’s new 10-bit Full-Path color management system. Released on the occasion of Oppo Inno Day 2020, the new system is considered a first for Android that supports the full DCI-P3 lineup and 10-bit color depth from capture, storage and display. Oppo also said the new technology will help improve the viewing experience with more accurate color reproduction.
The launch of the Oppo Find X3 is slated for Q1 2021, but a specific date has yet to be announced. Oppo has already launched the Reno 5G with the Snapdragon 855 chipset, as well as the Find X2 5G smartphone.
In addition to Oppo, Realme and Xiaomi, other brands are expected to launch phones powered by Snapdragon 888. These include Asus, Black Shark, Lenovo, LG, Meizu, Motorola, Nubia, OnePlus, Sharp, Vivo, and ZTE.
Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 888 5G mobile platform comes with 3rd Generation Snapdragon X60 5G Modem-RF System which supports mmWave and sub-6 on all major bands. The flagship chipset also has gaming upgrades as it is designed to support up to 144 frames per second. When it comes to photography, the Snapdragon 888 5G is said to be 35% faster than the previous generation. The chipset can capture photos and videos at 2.7 gigapixels per second, or around 120 photos at 12-megapixel resolution.
