Sunil Dutt, president of Reliance Jio for devices and mobility, said there is a need to provide affordable devices so that people still using 2G handsets can switch to 4G and 5G.
Trust as an organization we have done this in the past for 4G, where the benefits of connectivity were much more affordable with JioPhones. On other 4G devices, we work with Realme and other organizations to try to make devices more affordable for people, Dutt told India Mobile Congress 2020.
He said that Jio is not only looking at the mobile phone segment, but also working on other connected devices.
Realme CEO Madhav Sheth said that 5G will open up many innovation opportunities in the future that will not be limited to smartphones alone.
He said chipsets have played an important role in bringing 5G phones to the maximum number of people.
I think we’re on the 5G path not just in India but around the world and I think MediaTek has a pretty critical role to play. We’ve been hardware vendors, I think our job is to make sure that, fundamentally, we are able to bring 5G devices to the maximum number of people at a price that fits their pocket without compromising the technological aspects of the devices. devices, Sheth said.
Chief executive of chipset maker MediaTek India Anku Jain said the company has seen strong adoption of digital technology during the pandemic.
Going forward, we’re looking at trends like artificial intelligence, robotics, drones and vehicle automation, and these technologies work in tandem with 5G for a smarter lifestyle. In 2021, we predict that 5G will open doors for faster, smarter, connected smart devices, Jain said.
