Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg Engage in Feud as Twitter Takes Legal Action Against Threads

The ongoing feud between Elon Musk and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg shows no signs of stopping, as they continue to exchange heated remarks on their microblogging platforms. Musk recently referred to Zuckerberg as a “cuck” after seeing his response to a post by Wendy’s on Threads, the new Twitter rival. This feud has escalated with threats of legal action, mysterious posts, and even talk of a potential physical confrontation.

Wendy’s official Threads handle posted on Sunday, “Hey @Zuck you should go to space just make him really mad lol,” to which Meta’s CEO responded with a laughing emoji. Twitter user @fentasyl spotted the conversation and posted a screenshot of it on Twitter, writing that Elon: Protects free speech and “Zuck: Protects brand speech.” A Twitter executive and CTO noticed this and commented on the post, “Zuck is a cuck.”

Soon after, Zuckerberg also appeared to troll Musk with one-word responses on Threads. Responding to a post on the platform, Meta’s CEO commented “touching,” with a laughing emoji, the same way Musk usually responds to tweets.

The threat of a lawsuit from Twitter

This isn’t the first time Musk and Zuckerberg have butted heads. Just days after the launch of the Threads app, Twitter expressed concern about Meta’s “systematic, intentional and illegal misuse” of Twitter’s confidential data and code to build Threads.

Semafor has acquired the content of the leaked email sent by Twitter lawyer Alex Spiro to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on behalf of the microblogging platform. It states: “Based on recent reports regarding your newly launched ‘Threads’ app, Twitter is seriously concerned that Meta Platforms (“Meta”) has engaged in a systematic, willful and unlawful misappropriation of Twitter’s trade secrets and intellectual property rights.”
