Threads App To Introduce Editing Feature, Feed Follows, Hashtags and More
According to reports, Threads, the new social media platform by Meta, is said to be developing several new features. These forthcoming additions encompass an edit button, a feed for following other users, and a language translation feature to cater to diverse languages.
According to IANS, Threads users will soon be able to edit their posts for free. Additionally, the following feed presents posts from accounts that users choose to follow.
Additionally, Instagram head Adam Mosseri confirmed that the team is developing a translation option to support different languages. While the current version of the app only allows account search, an upcoming update will allow users to search for specific messages. The company is also working on Threads’ web interface, but according to Mosser, mobile applications are the priority.
In response to user inquiries, Mosseri mentioned plans to switch accounts and discussions about introducing a “Reactions” button. However, he wanted to keep things simple to avoid complexity. The application has hashtags and enhanced subject-based search.
While the inclusion of a “trending topics” tab is on the list, Mosseri clarified that it requires careful consideration to balance benefits, ensure localization and address abuse.
Threads is a new app developed by the Instagram team for sharing text updates and participating in public conversations. You log in with your Instagram account and posts can be up to 500 characters long and contain links, photos and videos up to 5 minutes long.
Similar to Instagram, Threads allows users to follow and connect with friends and creators who share their interests, including people they follow on Instagram, according to the company. In addition, users under the age of 16 (or under 18 in some countries) are assigned a private profile by default when they join the app. In Threads, users can control who can mention or reply to them.
Like Instagram, users can add specific words to filter out replies that contain those words in their threads. They can also unfollow, block, limit or report a profile on Threads by tapping the three-dot menu, and any account they’ve blocked on Instagram will automatically be blocked on Threads.
