Grammarly to Discontinue Text Editor Software Development Kit
Grammarly, the widely used AI-powered writing assistant, has recently revealed its plans to discontinue the “Text Editor SDK” on January 10th of the upcoming year.
“On Wednesday, January 10, 2024, the Grammarly Text Editor SDK will be discontinued. After that date, the SDK will no longer be able to provide Grammarly writing suggestions in your app,” Grammarly said in a blog post published Thursday.
According to the company, the decision to end the service was based on learning and input from the developer community and developing our core product portfolio in ways that go beyond writing help and facilitate many of the organization’s communication workflows.
As of now, the company mentioned that it will no longer accept new registrations for Grammarly for Developers.
“For those who have recently registered and are considering integrating the Text Editor SDK, you have until July 26, 2023 to create a new app. Please note that the Text Editor SDK will no longer work in your app after January 10, 2024,” Grammarly said.
In May, Grammarly introduced a new product that uses generative AI to write business emails and assist employee workflows through popular office apps.
Grammarly CEO Rahul Roy-Chowdhury announced a new product called Grammarly Business that helps AI users communicate more effectively “beyond words.”
