Samsung can’t kill the Galaxy Note series yet

The head of mobile SamsungTM Roh, recently confirmed that the flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S21 will be launched in January and that it could support the S Pen. However, this is not all. It has also been assumed that as the Galaxy S series is now compatible with the S Pen, it will also mark the end of the Galaxy Note series. This is because these two series of smartphones have almost the same set of specifications, with the S Pen being the only major differentiator.

However, this rumor might not be true.

According to a report by the Yonhap news agency, one of the unnamed Samsung officials said that “we are preparing to release the Galaxy Note series next year”.

For now, there is obviously no confirmation on the Note series. But if this news is true, it will make the Galaxy Note series one of the many other high-end smartphones that Samsung currently owns.

It’s also unclear what the specs and features of the 2021 Galaxy Note models will be, which will make them different from the Galaxy S series.

Meanwhile, Roh also confirmed that S Pen support will be available for foldable phones as well. In addition, Samsung plans to offer foldable products at a more “affordable” price. “Accessible” in this case most likely refers to the price of foldables which currently range between $1,300 and $2,000. Rumor has it that the Z Fold “Lite” is on the horizon in 2021. It is hoped that Samsung aims to make the folds something more than a “curiosity,” in which case they will have to drive prices down considerably.
