Amazon’s New Technology Creates Double Your Virtual Body For Shopping: Here’s How It Works
Amazon is trying to make online shopping a little easier and more fun for US customers. He launched a new service called Made for You, which creates personalized t-shirts for shoppers and shows them on a 3D version of themselves. The 3D virtual double body is created based on their measurements. What they need to do is give Amazon their height, weight, and body style with a few photos using the Amazon app.
With all the data, Amazon builds a virtual double body to visualize what the personalized t-shirt will look like on the body.
Amazon says it automatically removes photos that users give using their app. Besides, they can also delete the size information at any time. The e-commerce giant is said to be expanding this service to more styles and clothing in the future. However, most of them will be based on user feedback.
In addition, the company also plans to include more body styles than what already exists right now – female and male. This technology does not use AR in any way, something of e-commerce companies like Lenskart or Myntra, but it shows Amazon’s ambition in different ways in which it can take on its rivals in the years to come.
This Made for You service uses 3D body modeling technology, which is linked to Amazon’s acquisition of 3D imaging startup Body Labs, in 2017. And that’s not all. Amazon has already experienced personalized shopping experiences with services such as Stitch Fix, which is a wardrobe subscription service, Prime Wardrobe, and Echo Look, which was recently discontinued.
