Sony’s Latest TWS Earbuds to be Released – Price and What to Expect
Sony is set to release its latest high-end True Wireless earbuds in the coming days. The WF-1000 series from Sony has gained a reputation as one of the top choices in its category, and now the company aims to raise the bar with the introduction of the Sony WF-1000XM5. However, we have always found the name of these wireless earbuds to be rather intricate, resembling more of a codename than a product.
But that doesn’t tell you the true quality of the product, which is likely to see an update this year.
Sony WF-1000XM5 release date and expected features
Sony has shared a public teaser of the WF-1000XM5, with a release date of July 24, Monday of next week. The teaser also talks about silence, which suggests further upgrades with the headphones’ noise reduction, which is already one of the best in its segment. We’ve already seen a few leaks of the WF-1000XM5, which hint at a revised design for the headphones, which should be lighter and more comfortable to wear on the ears.

Even then, Sony could extend the battery life of the headphones, and together with the charging case, it should give around 24 hours of backup. According to reports, the buds could be equipped with 8.4mm drivers and a further improvement with microphones for handling voice calls and ANC.
These upgrades are likely to result in a price freeze for the product this year, with Sony likely to price the WF-1000XM5 in the buyer’s market at around $320 (roughly Rs. 25,900), pitting it against the AirPods Pro and other high-end devices. TWS headphones from Sennheiser, Bose and others. We hope the new WF-1000XM5 lives up to its current status and Sony offers significant upgrades that make it an attractive product for everyone.
