Elon Musk Suggests Eliminating Twitter Logo and “All the Birds” in Recent Post

Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur, is progressing with his intentions to rename Twitter as the X app, a platform that guarantees more than just sharing on social media. In April, when introducing the new CEO, Linda Yaccarino, he conveyed his enthusiasm for converting the platform into the “everything app” called “X.”

In October, Musk stated that acquiring Twitter would speed up the creation of “X,” the all-encompassing app. Twitter’s merger with Musk’s X app was legally completed in April, effectively rendering Twitter Inc obsolete.

Elon Musk’s vision for the “X” app

Musk announced his intention on Twitter today, stating: “And soon we will say goodbye to the twitter brand and gradually to all the birds.” This has sparked speculation about the future existence of Twitter under the same name. The platform still exists, but under a new brand. The iconic blue bird logo synonymous with Twitter will be replaced by an as-yet-unrevealed X logo.

Mixed reactions to Twitter’s branding announcement

The announcement drew mixed reactions from users, with some expressing hope for a promising new beginning with the X app, while others expressed reluctance to part with the familiar bird logo that has become synonymous with Twitter.

In another tweet, Musk hinted that if the appropriate X logo is sent, the rebranded platform could be rolled out globally in a matter of hours, potentially speeding up the transition process.

Domain change and the future of Twitter’s iconic logo

As for the domain change, Musk has not answered questions about whether Twitter.com will remain. Due to the high value of the domain name, the transition to a new domain name may require additional time, but the overall branding process can happen faster than expected.

On the other hand, Twitter considers its bird logo as its most recognizable symbol and takes care to protect it. However, in April, the logo was briefly replaced by Dogecoin’s Shiba Inu crypto, boosting the meme coin’s market cap at the time by an astounding $4 billion.

A court document filed in California on April 4 confirmed that Twitter is no longer an independent entity and has been integrated into X Corp. Elon Musk is the CEO of both X Corp and its parent company X Holdings Corp.

Often referred to as an “everything app” by Musk, the X app has been compared to China’s WeChat, known for its multi-functionality and widespread adoption.

As the X app prepares to take over, Twitter users are anticipating the unveiling of the new X logo and the platform’s transformation under a new identity.
