YouTube website undergoes tiny but significant change
Looks like YouTube is making a small but big change to its Youtube.com website. In case you remember, in October of this year, the company redesigned the experience of watching videos on its Android and iOS apps. However, now it is making one of these changes to the web version. We are talking in particular of the “autoplay” toggle directly inside the video bar.
Right now, for millions of people around the world, YouTube’s Autoplay button is found in the right sidebar under the Next section which shows which video will play next. However, with the new design, the autoplay toggle is now inside the video player itself, making it more accessible and easier to reach.
Spotted by 9to5 Google, the toggle button can be seen to the left of “subtitles” and “settings” with the play button, pause corresponding to the look with the design of its mobile application. And since this feature is now in the video player, it disappears along with the other controls when you don’t hover over it.
In case you are looking at the updated web design, there will be a blue autoplay prompt that will explain and show you the new location for this feature.
Meanwhile, a separate report suggested that YouTube is working on a new feature that will dramatically improve offline viewing. Spotted by Android Police, YouTube may soon allow users to download videos across multiple devices. Essentially, if you download a video to your phone, it can also appear on other devices that have your YouTube app installed.
