LinkedIn Launches ‘AI Coach’ to Help Job Seekers Prepare for Automation-Related Job Losses

Artificial intelligence has been held responsible for a significant decline in employment opportunities, particularly in recent times. Concerns have been raised about the potential crisis that may arise as millions of individuals are expected to lose their jobs to AI. However, amidst these concerns, certain companies are utilizing AI to facilitate job applications. LinkedIn, a well-known professional networking platform owned by Microsoft, renowned for its exceptional contributions to job search and skills enhancement, is now making significant progress in this field.

LinkedIn is currently developing an AI-based tool known as “AI Coach”. The purpose of this innovative tool is to help job seekers throughout the job search process by providing effective guidance on finding and applying for suitable job opportunities. The AI trainer is expected to be similar to Microsoft’s Bing chatbot, which allows users to inquire about different aspects, such as how it works and the details of the company’s work culture.

According to a report by Tech Circle, the app’s researcher Nima Owji shared the update on Twitter. He said LinkedIn is working on an AI coach to help job seekers apply for jobs, improve themselves and explore ways to expand their professional network.

Recently, Microsoft has actively integrated chatbots into several services, such as Bing and Microsoft 365 Office Document Copilot. Copilot will be available to commercial customers for $30 per user per month for Microsoft 365 E3, E5, Business Standard and Business Premium customers when it becomes widely available, according to the company. The company also launched a coding chatbot on GitHub in beta a few months ago.

LinkedIn has also embraced AI-powered features, such as creating first drafts for users when they’ve shared certain descriptions, and an AI-powered Copy Suggestions tool for creative ad professionals.

Artificial intelligence will save or destroy employees.

The rise of AI-based job search platforms is evident in India, Singapore, and the United States, and job postings and searches made on AI-based platforms have increased. Artificial intelligence offers promising opportunities, but it also raises concerns about the development of the workforce and improving skills. Speculations about potential job losses due to automation have been addressed in a Goldman Sachs research report highlighting tasks that can be automated. On the other hand, the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs report 2023 foresees the creation of new job opportunities in fields such as machine learning, data analysis and digital transformation.

LinkedIn’s AI Coach is a noteworthy development that can significantly benefit job seekers by saving time and effort, making the platform even more valuable to professionals seeking career growth and advancement in the digital age.
