Portable Package Offers High-End Sound Design with Uno Synth Pro X

IK Multimedia has unveiled the Uno Synth Pro X, an upgraded version of its highly acclaimed Uno Synth Pro flagship keyboard. Retaining its three-oscillator paraphonic design and impressive features, the Pro X boasts a fresh layout and a distinctive sound engine. Additionally, it comes equipped with new effects such as genuine analog overdrive, shimmer reverb, and a vibrato/chorus inspired by the renowned Uni-Vibe pedal.

There are over ten “studio quality” effects in total, and you can stack them for unique sound design options via three modulation slots. The dual-filter design and three-oscillator sound engine offer plenty of sonic possibilities, and there are 256 preset locations to store your creations. In addition, the Pro X features a 64-step paraphonic sequencer with step and real-time recording options, as well as a 10-mode arpeggiator with pattern designer. This arpeggiator allows for the typical legato, mono and paraphonic modes, but even includes a brand new bass mode.

One big change compared to the original Synth Pro is that this version is very light, weighing in at less than a pound, and is intended for portable use. This is fantastic news for those who like to rock synths on airplanes or in the bathroom, but it comes at a cost. There’s no actual keyboard here, so you’ll have to use the integrated multi-function buttons or connect it to a MIDI keyboard. However, there are many more practical control options available compared to the OG model.

In terms of connectivity, Synth Pro X offers a lot to be excited about. It has USB-C, 5-pin DIN MIDI, balanced stereo outputs and a dedicated stereo headphone output. These interfaces make it easy to integrate with other synthesizers, effects processors, DAWs, and just about anything else. When connected to a computer, an extended sound editor opens in your DAW of choice for further adjustments.

IK Multimedia’s Synth Pro X is powered via USB-C or the included standard power supply. You can order one right now directly from the company for $500.
