YouTube Records Over 1.7 Billion Views On AI Tool Videos In 2023
Google-owned YouTube has announced that the platform has more than 1.7 billion views of videos related to artificial intelligence tools this year.
The platform also introduced YouTube’s Music AI Incubator.
“The incubator helps inform YouTube’s approach as we partner with some of music’s most innovative artists, songwriters and producers across the industry from diverse cultures, genres and experiences,” YouTube said in a blog post on Monday.
To launch this program, the company is partnering with Universal Music Group.
Among others, the internationally known and respected songwriter Anitta, producer and entrepreneur Bjorn Ulvaeus and the innovative genre-defying artist d4vd will be included.
This talented group helps gather insights from the generative AI experiments and research being developed on YouTube.
The company also expressed plans to further develop its focus on helping artists and creators make money on the platform.
“We continue to invest in AI-powered technology that helps us protect our community of viewers, creators, artists and songwriters—from Content ID to the policies and identification and monitoring systems that keep our platform safe behind the scenes.”
In the coming months, YouTube will also share more about the specific technologies, monetization opportunities and practices it is developing.
Last week, the platform announced it would remove content that promotes “cancer treatments proven to be harmful or ineffective” or “discourages viewers from seeking professional treatment.”
It had said that moving forward it would streamline its dozens of existing guidelines on medical misinformation to fall into three categories — prevention, treatment and denial.
