Ads for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 Take Over Seoul Ahead of Unpacked Event
Samsung’s highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled to take place tomorrow, July 26, in Seoul. In preparation for the event, Samsung has secured prominent digital billboards in Gangnam district and the Namsan Seoul Tower at Nam Mountain. These captivating mini videos offer glimpses of Samsung’s upcoming foldable smartphones, speculated to be the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5, which are expected to be unveiled during the event.
These out-of-home ads in Seoul are located in the Gangnam district, near COEX, where the Unpacked event takes place, and N Seoul Tower on Nam Mountain. The event will be held at COEX from 16:30 IST. Namsan Seoul Tower is the highest point where you can go to see the beautiful city. It is also Korea’s first public radio wave tower.
Join the flip side
The ads are cryptic, but they reveal the most important information when the tag “Join the flip side” pops up every now and then. The rest of the teaser shows a half-folding smartphone (which is likely the Galaxy Z Flip 5’s artwork) and a bunch of animated characters dancing on top of it as the smartphone’s screen turns into a disco light. At the end of the video, the message “Galaxy Unpacked” is shown, followed by the details of the event.
In addition to this, the streets of Gangnam neighborhoods were also covered with narrow displays where the same characters can be seen dancing and inviting people to join them on the other side.
Namsan Seoul Tower also featured these promotional videos with characters dancing and sliding around the tower with a big Galaxy Unpacked written on top.
It should be noted that this is the first time Samsung is hosting its Galaxy Unpacked event in Seoul.
What to expect at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked?
Several leaks have reported that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are likely to be announced at the event. Among the significant improvements, it is expected that the smartphones will have a new hinge mechanism that allows the devices to be folded flat. The Flip 5 is also rumored to have a larger cover display and better battery life. Otherwise, iterative updates are expected in the technical data of the phones.
It is also rumored that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 as well as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series may also be introduced during the event. Some sources have also hinted that the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE may also be introduced, but no concrete information about this device has been received.
