IIT Madras disclosed that it has been granted Rs. 100 Cr. to establish the Wadhwani School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. 1. Artificial intelligence recreated voices of late singers: AR Rahman
Music composer and producer AR Rahman shared a post by Sony Music South on his X account highlighting how artificial intelligence was used to create the voices of two late singers – Bamba Bakya and Shahul Hameed. The song titled Thimiri Yezhuda has been created for Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Lal Salaam. While the news left the internet divided, Rahman revealed that not only permission was taken from the families of the late singers, but a fee was also paid.
2. Generative artificial intelligence helps identify merger and acquisition targets
Management consulting company Bain & Co. said in its annual report on Tuesday that traders are turning to generative artificial intelligence to identify M&A targets. A total of 300 M&A practitioners were surveyed, and 16 percent claimed to have used generative AI to close deals in the past. Additionally, 80 percent of people said they would adopt gen AI in the next three years. Suzanne Kumar, vice president of Bain’s M&A practice and co-author of the report, said, “The long-term question is whether companies will also use Gen AI for decision-making.”

Digital transformation consultancy Synechron announced the launch of a suite of nine artificial intelligence solutions ready for deployment within weeks. 4. Entera Global brings an important feature to Tally
Entera Global, an artificial intelligence-based accounting software company, announced on Tuesday the launch of a new feature for its Entera product. According to the release, this feature will allow users to import any bank statement into Tally, streamlining financial processes and reducing manual workload for accountants. Entera uses an artificial intelligence algorithm to ensure the accuracy of current tasks and to remember the user’s ledgers for future actions. This feature extends support to statements from major Indian banks including State Bank of India, AXIS, Bank of India, Canara, HDFC, ICICI, Indian Bank, Kotak, Punjab National Bank, Samruddhi Bank, UCO, Union Bank, Bank of Maharashtra and others .
5. IIT Madras to set up School of Data Science and AI
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras on Tuesday announced that it has received Rs. 100 Kr. to establish the Wadhwani School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. According to a PTI report, the amount was sent by former alumnus Sunil Wadhwani, founder and CEO of Mastech, Inc. and IGATE. The release says that the Wadhwani School of Data Science and AI aims to be among the best schools in the world focusing on artificial intelligence. Its goal is also to advise the government and decision-makers in policy areas related to data science and artificial intelligence.
