Apple Could Release Budget MacBooks in 2024

Cupertino-based tech giant Apple is said to be working on an affordable and affordable MacBook series to compete with Chromebook models in the education sector. This affordable MacBook series may be launched in the second half of 2024.

The iPhone maker plans to release a new type of product that is different from their current MacBook Air and Pro laptops. This new product still has a metal finish, but is made from cheaper materials. According to DigiTimes industry sources, this change is expected to reduce the cost of internal parts.

According to the report, the new MacBook series may not be released in the first half of next year, as major Apple suppliers such as Quanta Computer and Foxconn have shown no signs of it.

More than 13.9 million Chromebooks were shipped in 2019, rising to more than 30.4 million in 2020 and 33.5 million in 2021, according to DigiTimes Research, underscoring the popularity of Google’s cheap laptops in the education sector, especially during and after the global pandemic.

However, sales of Chromebooks have slowed slightly since the end of the pandemic, but the company is still selling more than before COVID. Many schools have opted for Chromebooks over Apple iPads in recent years.

Meanwhile, Apple is all set to host its Wonderlust event next week on September 12, where the brand is expected to unveil four new iPhones – iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max/Ultra. Leaks have already revealed that all the latest iPhones will be equipped with a USB-C port and the Dynamic Island feature.

Several reports have also claimed that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will include additional features such as a titanium frame, customizable Action button, A17 Bionic chip, Wi-Fi 6E support and more. Future iPhone 15 Pro models may feature a sleek titanium frame that’s lighter than the previous stainless steel one.

Inside they can be a fast A17 Bionic chip, which is built using a state-of-the-art 3nm process. Instead of the usual Ring/Silent switch, there might be a new Action button that can perform different tasks.
