Apple Faces Internal Concerns About Launching Mixed Reality Headset
Apple continues to release Mixed Reality headsets this year. Reports suggest that the company could showcase the product at the World Wide Conference 2023 (WWDC 2023), which should take place around June.
But the product has faced a lot of delays and challenges on the technology side, and now Apple employees are not sure if the product is ready to be introduced in front of the public.
In fact, the company saw some people on the team building the XR headphones leave the project due to doubts about the product and its viability in the market, according to a New York Times report.
The report also says that Apple blamed some of the project’s employees and asked them to leave because the company was not impressed with the development of the headset’s features. The design team behind the headset believes that its size and overall comfort have not been refined into a useful product.
It’s not just employees, but Tim Cook and Co. as well. have faced questions about the product from some senior executives, but none of that has stopped Cook and his team from bringing the product to market this year.
The XR headset, which will be shown at WWDC 2023, is an ideal platform for the company to allow developers to familiarize themselves with the product and the supposed realityOS platform that will power the hardware. It is likely to cost around $2000 (roughly Rs. 1.65 lakh), making it a premium product.
The latest Bloomberg update suggests that Apple is close to going public, now that it has been on display in front of 100 top Apple executives at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino this week. In any case, it cannot be denied that the Technology industry is closely following Apple’s product launches, which may have a direct impact on the AR/VR sector in the coming years.
