Now that iOS 17 is set to arrive soon on compatible iPhones this month, let’s take a look at some of the most important features in India that iOS 17 will bring to both new and existing iPhones. Improved dual SIM experience

In India, there is a significant demand for dual-SIM functionality in smartphones. Although recent generations of iPhones—starting with the iPhone XS—have supported this feature, the experience with its backup software has been somewhat limited. In iOS 17, iPhone users can view their messages sorted by primary and secondary SIM. This makes it easier for people who use one SIM card for work and one for personal use to separate personal and work-related messages. Apple has also provided users with the ability to set different ringtones for each SIM card, which is useful for both personal and work use.

Bilingual Siri Assistant

Siri gets several updates with iOS 17. Now iPhone users can interact with Siri in two languages. This means you can communicate with Siri in both English and Hindi at the same time – or even combine other regional Indian languages like Telugu or Marathi with English.

Improved built-in translation features for regional Indian languages

When will iOS 17 be released?

Last year, Apple released iOS 16 five days after the iPhone 14 event. This year, iOS 17 beta 8 and public beta 6 have already been released, so Apple might follow the same schedule. If history is any indication, we could see iOS 17 the week after this. If you want to try iOS 17 early, you can install beta versions. But if you’ve waited this long, you might as well wait a little longer for the final public release.
