Apple probably won’t have a ChatGPT competitor on the market anytime soon

The report mentions that Apple’s approach to artificial intelligence has always been different, in fact the company uses human input to develop its voice assistant Siri, which speaks to the level of optimization behind the scenes in Cupertino. It also shows that Apple understands the complexities of using AI chatbots and how its downsides can be catastrophic for a multi-trillion brand.

The report explains that Apple uses humans to edit and type the answers Siri provides, which is against the ethos of mainstream voice assistants that Google and Amazon, among others, have on the market. Now, the difficulty of listening in on people’s conversations is a clear violation of privacy that Apple had to stop after the Guardian revealed these incriminating details.

But it would be unlikely that Apple doesn’t have a plan for an AI chatbot. In fact, according to the report, by 2024, the company may have a potential competitor to ChatGPT, Bard AI, and others, which means iPhone and iPad users can likely expect these AI features in iOS 18 or later.
