Apple Shares Impressive Figures for iOS 16 and Beyond Ahead of WWDC 2023
Apple is gearing up for the highly anticipated tech event, WWDC 2023, which is set to commence on June 5. The event will feature the unveiling of several thrilling products, including a mixed reality headset, as well as the presentation of significant software updates such as iOS 17, iPadOS 17, watchOS 10, xrOS, and tvOS 17. In the lead-up to the conference, Apple has disclosed its latest adoption statistics for iOS 16 and iPadOS 16, based on transactions carried out on the App Store.
The stable version of iOS 16 was released in September last year. Based on data provided by Apple, iOS 16 is currently running on nearly 81 percent of all active iPhones, a significant increase from 72 percent in February. The statistics also reveal that about 13 percent of active iPhones still have iOS 15, while 6 percent have an older version of iOS. About a year ago, Apple announced that iOS 15 is running on about 82 percent of all active iPhones.
iPadOS 16 users
The data also revealed that 71% of all iPad users are currently using iPadOS 16. On the other hand, only 20% use the iPadOS 15 operating system and 9% use outdated software. It should be noted that Apple is also expected to announce the upcoming iPadOS 17 release at WWDC 2023.
