Apple Watch to Receive Major Upgrade with Preview of WatchOS 10 at WWDC 2023
On June 5, the Apple Park campus in Cupertino will host the much-awaited Worldwide Developers Conference, which will kick off with a keynote speech by Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. The week-long event will feature a series of online developer sessions. Apple has some thrilling plans for this occasion, such as the unveiling of its new headset and the introduction of xrOS, which is specifically designed for the Apple headset. Furthermore, updates to iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS will also be presented.
Anything special for the Apple Watch this year?
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, watchOS 10 is expected to bring major improvements to the Apple Watch software, making it the most significant update in years. In addition, 9to5Mac reports that significant changes will be made to the user interface, such as the reintroduction of user interface elements. These improvements allow users to access more information, including activity tracking and weather, with a simple swipe without having to open individual apps.
Apple recently released watchOS 9.5.1, a 91.8MB update that focuses on bug fixes and general improvements for the Apple Watch. This release does not contain security updates. Users can install the update through the Settings app on the Apple Watch or the Watch app on the iPhone. Last month, Apple released watchOS 9.5, which included the addition of a new Pride watch face for 2023.
Apple will announce watchOS 10 during its WWDC 2023 keynote, and it’s expected to bring significant improvements to the Apple Watch, with a particular focus on widgets.
Early adopters can expect the first beta versions of watchOS 10 to be available starting Monday. The final release is likely to happen in September.
As hardware changes are expected to be minimal, the watchOS update will provide the most important information about the Apple Watch in 2023 and will primarily focus on updating the operating system.
