Apple Watch Ultra Set To Unveil New Feature In 2023: Here’s What You Need To Know

According to reports, Apple, the tech giant from the United States, is said to be preparing for the release of its second iteration of the Apple Watch Ultra, which will incorporate mechanical components created through 3D printing technology. The launch of this new version is expected to take place later in the year.

According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple’s supply chain shows that the company is actively adopting 3D printing technology. Specifically, some of the titanium mechanical parts of 2H23’s new Apple Watch Ultra will be 3D printed, MacRumors reports.

Components may include the Digital Crown, Side Button, and Action Button, as these are the only mechanical parts of the Apple Watch Ultra. These titanium parts are currently CNC machined. The change has the potential to increase production time and lower costs. If deliveries from suppliers go well, Kuo believes that several Apple products will adopt 3D printing technology in the future.

Previously, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman was the only source to suggest that Apple will introduce a second-generation Apple Watch Ultra alongside the upcoming Apple Watch Series 9 models later this year. Kuo’s recent report lends further credence to this information, supporting the notion that the Apple Watch Ultra is likely to follow the standard update cycle of the Apple Watch series.

Another report revealed that Apple plans to release an updated version of the Apple Watch Ultra this year. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the updated Apple Watch Ultra is codenamed N210 and will launch alongside two new Series 9 Apple Watches, codenamed N207 and N208.

All three watches – the new Apple Watch Ultra and the two Series 9 models – are expected to be released in the fall of this year alongside the iPhone 15 series. Apple usually releases its new iPhones and Apple Watches during its September event, so it might be possible that we’ll see the new Apple Watches then.

The new Apple Watches are also rumored to feature a new processor based on either a 5nm or 6nm architecture – which could offer users longer battery life than some recent models like the Apple Series 8.
