How To Control Threads Notifications On Android: A Step-By-Step Guide
After its recent release, Meta’s Threads, a social media platform developed by the Instagram team, is posing a strong challenge to its competitor Twitter. This app allows users to share text updates and participate in public discussions, and is accessible on both iPhones and Android smartphones.
You can log in using your Instagram account and posts can be up to 500 characters long and contain links, photos and videos up to 5 minutes long. Like Instagram, Threads allows users to follow and connect with friends and creators who share their interests, including people they follow on Instagram.
In addition, users under the age of 16 (or under 18 in some countries) are assigned a private profile by default when they join the app. In Threads, users can control who can mention or reply to them.
Threads users can add specific words to filter out replies that contain those words in their threads. They can also unfollow, block, limit or report a profile on Threads by tapping the three-dot menu, and any account they’ve blocked on Instagram will automatically be blocked on Threads. One of the most important features of Threads is that users can remove notifications from the Threads app.
Here’s how to manage Threads notifications on Android devices
– Open the Threads app and go to the profile page.
– Tap the Menu button in the upper right corner.
– Select “Notifications” from the menu.
– Choose to pause all notifications or adjust Threads and Replies or Follow and Follower settings.
– There are five options to choose from: 15 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours or 8 hours.
– Select threads and replies from three options: everyone, People you follow or disable it completely.
– Enable or disable following and following notifications for each category.
Meanwhile, Threads is said to be working on introducing additional options. These upcoming features include an edit button, next feed, and a translation option for different languages. Threads users will soon be able to edit their posts for free. Additionally, the following feed presents posts from accounts that users choose to follow.
