What are the Details of Jio AirFiber Device Unveiled by Mukesh Ambani?
Reliance Jio, a prominent participant in India’s telecommunications sector, has made an official announcement regarding the upcoming release of the Jio AirFiber. This innovative fixed-wireless connectivity device is set to be unveiled on September 19, coinciding with the auspicious celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Mukesh Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Industries shared his excitement about the launch and stated, “Today I am pleased to announce the auspicious launch of JioAirFiber on Ganesh Chaturthi on September 19, giving us a new avenue for customer value and revenue growth in the untapped domestic segment of India.”
What is Jio AirFiber device?
The Jio AirFiber device aims to meet the challenge of providing high-speed connectivity to all corners of India, leveraging Reliance Jio’s pan-India 5G network and advanced wireless technologies. With this, the company aims to bypass the need for traditional last-mile fiber connections, which makes high-speed internet even more accessible to a wider population.
Mukesh Ambani highlighted that Jio AirFiber has the potential to make up to 150,000 connections per day. This ambitious target will enable Reliance Jio to enter the market and reach over 200 million high-income households in the next three years. This strategic shift involves the integration of the existing JioFiber wired network with the features of the Jio AirFiber device, providing homes and offices with seamless high-speed internet connectivity.
Existing Reliance Jio subscribers can register for Jio AirFiber through a simple process. Share their home address on MyJio app or Jio.com. After that, Jio evaluates the network availability and provides information about the Jio AirFiber service.
One of the most notable features of JioAirFiber is its ability to deliver fiber-like speed through the air, eliminating the need for physical wires. Plug-and-play functionality ensures that users can effortlessly create personal Wi-Fi hotspots at home or in the office with the added benefit of using True 5G technology.
Jio AirFiber stands out from its predecessor, JioFiber based on Fiber Optic technology. While JioFiber offers stability and high speeds, it requires a larger infrastructure for connectivity. In contrast, Jio AirFiber’s simplicity lies in its device-based approach, which is similar to turning on a Wi-Fi hotspot, but with significantly higher internet speeds.
