All Details and Target Audience of Apple’s Rs 9,900 AirPods Pro 2 USB-C Case Launch
Good news for those who have been eyeing the latest AirPods Pro 2 with the new USB-C port, but have already bought the Lightning version and can’t justify spending an extra Rs 24,900 for the Lightning connector USB-C upgrade – Apple is now offering the AirPods Pro 2 USB-C case as a separate accessory for current users.
Apple is offering the MagSafe case for Rs 9,900, which makes it a good deal for someone who already has the second generation AirPods Pro with Lightning connector. Simply put, when you buy a USB-C case, you can replace your AirPods 2 and put them in the new case. there are no changes in dimensions or anything like that. So if you’re planning to spend Rs 24,900 on a new pair, Apple might have just saved you close to Rs 15,000.
You can head over to the Apple website in India to buy the new case as it is already listed in the store. However, if you want engraved AirPods, you can’t get it by buying the case separately; the only option is to buy a new pair.
If you’re thinking of buying this for your old first-gen AirPods Pro, don’t. Apple has specifically listed that these are only for the second generation pair. “The charging case is compatible with AirPods Pro (2nd generation) that originally shipped with either the MagSafe Charging Case (USB-C) or the MagSafe Charging Case (Lightning),” notes Apple.
This is not the first time that Apple has offered the case separately to users. Earlier, when it brought MagSafe charging to AirPods, it started offering a MagSafe-compatible case for the first-generation AirPods Pro as well.
