Don’t Get Blocked From YouTube: Say No To Ad Blockers!
Are you watching YouTube videos and still using the ad blocker to stop the ads? It’s time to uninstall/remove the plugin or else YouTube will simply block access to the platform and prevent you from viewing content.
YouTube is implementing a three-strikes rule for videos as well, giving people enough time to stop using the ad blocker and show ads on all videos on their profile for as long as they want to use YouTube for free.
We independently tested this theory on YouTube using the ad blocker to see if the ads would stop and continue playing videos without interruption. While these two parts were true, we also noticed that YouTube will flash this warning sign to block videos if you don’t remove the ad blocker from your browser.
The message clearly states that the video will be blocked unless you whitelist YouTube from the ad blocker app/plugin or disable the feature entirely. So what is the next option for people to continue watching YouTube videos without ads?
YouTube says you can choose the Premium service and be ad-free with the same account on multiple devices. You also have the YouTube Premium family option, which offers ad-free YouTube with background playback for up to five people in your household.
YouTube says the reason it wants more people to pay for the platform is because the company pays creators for their efforts and content. These changes have already caused problems for ad-blocking companies, who have reportedly seen thousands of people uninstall apps because YouTube is now restricting its use in browsers. Most of the people who quit their ad blockers have been using YouTube on the Chrome browser.
People are clearly confused by YouTube’s strategy of blocking free viewing with ad blockers, but they are clearly looking for options to continue watching videos on the platform without having to pay for their Premium plans.
