Don’t Get Left Behind: How To Keep Your Google Account From Being Removed In December
Google accounts that have not been used for a while will be deleted in December this year and people would definitely like to prevent that. Google says any account that has been inactive for two years will face action. Google has informed people of this decision and given them enough time to activate these accounts so that they are not deleted.
Google says that all inactive accounts can be restored by logging into any Google product with the account and ensuring that the email address remains for the foreseeable future. And if you still don’t keep the Google account active, it will be deleted and most importantly, the person can’t use the same Gmail ID to create a new Google account.
How to keep your Google account active
Google has mentioned that the best way to keep your account active is to log into your account once every two years so that you don’t lose your account completely. But that’s not the only way, according to the company. You can keep your account active by doing one of the following.
– Read or send email from your Google account
– Use Google Drive to upload or download content
– Watch the video on YouTube from the same account
– Share a photo via Google Photo
– Download the app from the Play Store with your registered Google account
So why is Google taking such drastic measures? The company explains the need to keep users’ privacy intact and also prevent possible unauthorized access to accounts that have been unused for a long time. The changes were confirmed via email in July this year, and with December only a few weeks away, it’s important that you follow Google’s instructions and keep your account active.
