Elon Musk, the billionaire famous for his active online presence on X (previously known as Twitter), is urging the general public, regardless of smartphone ownership, to actively engage on the microblogging platform in order to bring about positive global change. Musk emphasizes that X is no longer limited to text-based content, but is transforming into a comprehensive platform that encompasses various aspects of users’ lives, including social media and banking.

Elon Musk recently visited the US-Mexico border to see firsthand the illegal immigration situation at Eagle Pass. He streams his entire journey so users can get real-time updates on the conditions at the border.

About 15 minutes into the live stream, Musk posted, “The border crisis is getting worse by the day! New York City is already feeling the tension.” More than 26 million people have already watched Musk’s live broadcast.

He continued: “Let’s encourage more citizen journalism! You can easily start a live broadcast on your phone. More people reporting from the country can change the world.” He added: “I hope people around the world will get involved in citizen journalism so we can really understand what’s happening in real time!”

In a previous post, Musk mentioned that the X will soon support streaming in 4K quality once they’ve finalized other features of the platform. “4K is definitely coming, but we have some other improvements to make first,” he said of streaming developments.
