New Google Drive home page view
According to a Google blog post report, Google Drive will soon get more new features that will help users easily find their files and folders. Previously, Google Drive got a new view where all their recent activity, comments and approvals were visible in one place. Now users will see more changes on the front page of the app, aimed at improving the user experience. The new features are introduced to “accelerate user productivity in new views,” said Google.
Google Drive introduced a redesigned home page called “Home” that improves access to important documents faster and easier. Machine learning algorithms are integrated into the home, allowing users to get personalized file and folder suggestions. In addition, filter chips allow you to streamline research and easily find suggested files by type, people, date modified, or location. Google also introduced “a more modern design based on Google Material Design 3 guidelines that will help you navigate Drive much more efficiently.”
Now when users open Google Drive, they are redirected to the home page instead of My Drive. In addition, users are also given the freedom to bring back the “My Drive” home page. Google announced that the extended rollout of the new front page view will begin on January 11, 2024. So users will have to wait a few more weeks to get their hands on the new Google Drive feature. Both Android and iOS mobile app users will get a new Google Drive home page view.
