Flipkart Wholesale presents a grocery section on its app
Flipkart Wholesale, the digital B2B arm of the Flipkart Group, announced on Wednesday that the platform will also offer groceries on its app. The company said the move would help provide kiranas and small retailers single access to a wide selection of products.
To begin with, the grocery category will be available for Gurugram retailers who can order products from the Flipkart Wholesale app. The expansion to other parts of the National Capital Region and to other cities will take place over the next few months.
Using the Wholesale app, retailers will be able to order basic goods, personal care, beverages, cleaning and linen, snacks and cookies, and packaged food products in over 350 brands, which include products from large companies such as HUL, P&G, Coca-Cola, Pepsi. , ITC, Nestl , Dabur, among others.
Flipkart Wholesale further said it will also operate a 1 lakh square foot distribution center in Bilaspur, Gurugram to better serve kiranas.

Flipkart launched the wholesale e-commerce service in India in September of last year. The platform debuted with the fashion category and catered to certain cities such as Bengaluru, Gurugram and Delhi.
The wholesale category is gradually gaining ground in the country. Udaan and Amazon are among the major players in the segment. Flipkart Wholesale, however, seems to have performed well in this area. According to a company statement in December, Flipkart Wholesale has seen 75% monthly growth in customer base and 90% monthly transaction growth since launching in September.
