Gmail Update Enhances Speed of Clearing Inboxes on Android Devices
If you use Gmail on Android, you probably know that emptying your inbox isn’t the most convenient task. However, Google is now introducing a new “select all” button for Gmail’s Android app, which will be activated when you start selecting multiple emails. This significantly improves the convenience and speed of emptying the mailbox.
As reported by 9to5Google, this feature allows users to select multiple emails at once. The maximum number of emails that can be selected is 50 – the same as in the web version of Gmail. So while it doesn’t select “all” emails, it still makes email management much easier compared to what we have on Android.
This feature has been available in the web version of Gmail for quite some time, so it’s pretty easy for users to clear their inbox.
How to get Gmail’s new “Select All” feature?
According to 9to5Google, the “Select All” feature will be rolled out with Gmail Android version 2023.08.20.561750975 on both Pixel and Galaxy smartphones running Android 14 and Android 13.
Additionally, this is also said to be a server-side change per device, and not limited to an app update. You can check if you have the feature by updating your Gmail app from the Google Play Store.
Such updates can take time to reach all users, so if you don’t have it right now – we recommend you wait – as it will eventually roll out to all supported Android devices with a compatible Gmail app.
