Google is accused of stealing patented artificial intelligence
According to a report by Android Police, the lawsuit states that Google took ideas from Singluar’s patented technology for its AI-based processors. It claims the companies had several interactions to share ideas, including conversations with Singular founder Joseph Bates between 2010 and 2014. Based on the interactions and Google’s new AI processor, a Massachusetts-based company sued Google for stealing their patented AI technology. AI features.
Google attorney Robert Van Nest claims that the chipset team never met the Singular founder and that the company reached out to itself to share ideas and design. Nest cited Singular Computing as a “disappointed inventor” as they have also reached out to companies such as Amazon, Meta, Microsoft and OpenAI. It has been reported that Google’s pre-trial documents showed $7 billion in damages, but Singular’s lawyers sought $1.67 billion during the trial. Singular claims that the chipset’s TPU, which is used to carry search, Gmail, Translate and other AI features, is made with Singular’s proprietary AI technology. It is now expected that the trial could drag on for weeks, making it another big case for Google.
