Google Launches Transparency Hub to Provide Users with More Information
Google, the US tech giant, has introduced a new Transparency Center for users. According to the company, the Transparency Center is a central hub where you can quickly and easily find out more about Google’s product practices.
“The Transparency Center collects existing resources and policies and is designed with you in mind. It provides easy access to information about our policies, how they are created and enforced, and more,” said David Graff, Google’s director of trust and security. wrote in a blog post.
The company also stated that as the online threat landscape changes, its policies will change to prevent abuse on its platforms. In addition, because the products have different uses, the company Tailors policies for each, with the goal of creating a safe and positive experience for everyone.
According to Google, the Transparency Center lets you learn about the policy development process, how Google monitors policies, and view each policy by product and service.
“Some of our most important guiding principles are also visible, including Google’s AI Principles, which were first published in 2018. By giving you access to our policies and principles, we aim to make our terms of use, rules and guidelines easier to understand for users, developers and creators,” Graff said.
Google first published transparency reports more than a decade ago, and they show how government policies affect access to information and inform the free flow of information.
The Transparency Center has its own page where you can find ways to report harmful content and make complaints about several of our services.
“The goal of our appeals process is to ensure due process, efficiency, and transparency for users who appeal our enforcement decisions. By adding transparency to how we handle data availability, moderation across all of our platforms, and some of our key security practices, we hope to make finding useful information easy and helpful,” Graff noted.
