Google reinstates some of the previously removed Indian apps on the Play Store

Google has reinstated some apps from Indian digital companies that it removed from the Play Store.

As confirmed via Play store, the tech giant brought back some apps like Shaadi.com, Info Edge’s Naukri, 99acres and Naukri Gulf and others.

Info Edge co-founder Sanjeev Bikchandani also confirmed the development in the X release.

“Many Info Edge apps are back on Play Store. A company led by Hitesh (Hitesh Oberoi) and the entire Info Edge team. People were up all night because of this. Great crisis management,” he wrote.

Earlier in the day, the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) protested the removal of apps by Indian companies and asked Google to restore those removed apps to its Play Store.

Google had removed more than a dozen apps from the Play Store from major Indian digital companies such as Matrimony and Shaadi.com.

The move comes after Google announced plans to take action against 10 developers who had refused to follow its payment policy, despite the payment policies of other app stores.

Google has also removed apps from companies like streaming platforms Altt, Stage and Aha, dating apps Truly Madly and Quack Quack, audio content platform Kuku FM and social app FRND.
