Google Utilizes Artificial Intelligence to Introduce Smart Compose Feature to Chat
At the Google I/O event, a range of AI tools were unveiled that are set to revolutionize many of Google’s current products and services. Among the announcements were an AI-enhanced search engine, an improved analytics offering, and a novel feature for Gmail and Docs called Smart Compose. This particular tool generated significant buzz due to its potential to transform the way people write emails and create content on Google Docs. Recently, the feature has also been integrated into Google Chat, the communication and messaging platform aimed at businesses.
Google published a blog post on Monday announcing the introduction of the Smart Compose feature in Chat. Google highlighted its role, saying: “Together with Smart Reply, an existing helper tool that suggests short replies to messages, this feature helps you communicate with colleagues faster and move conversations or projects forward more efficiently.”
Smart Compose comes to Google Chat
Many companies, especially digital-first companies, focus on agility in their tasks, projects and communication. As such, a faster way to communicate without losing the essence of the information being conveyed is an important need. Google Chat brings this feature to help individuals and businesses communicate more effectively. When users see a suggestion they like, they can accept it and add it to the sentence by pressing the tab button.
“Many rely on Chat for their immediate communication needs while juggling competing priorities. This feature lets you write messages faster and easier, saving time and effort,” Google added.
Currently, the Smart Compose feature is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian. This feature will be available to all users worldwide starting July 11. When the feature is released, it will be enabled by default, but it can be disabled by unchecking “Enable predictive suggestions when composing a message on web and desktop”. ” under smart typing in chat settings.
Every Google Workspace user with their own Google Account gets this feature.
