South Korean tech giant Samsung has received bumper pre-booking for its recently launched Galaxy S23 series smartphones in India. The company recently announced that Samsung R&D Institute Bangalore (SRI-B) significantly contributed to the innovation of the new Galaxy S23 series.
Samsung said in a statement that SRI-B’s SRI-B engineers contributed significantly to the development of key camera features, multi-device experience (SmartThings), device artificial intelligence and services for the Galaxy S23 series.
According to Samsung India, engineers at SRI-B have focused on continuous R&D to improve the smartphone photography experience across all flagships. Equipped with a state-of-the-art AI camera system, the new Galaxy S23 series can capture stunning photos and videos even in low light.
Industry experts worked passionately on Computational Photography and Vision AI technology to enhance features including Nightography, Pro-grade Video, High-Resolution HDR and Astrophotography Expert in RAW, the company said.
SRI-B engineers with strong expertise in visual intelligence and depth estimation and 2PD dual-pixel hardware sensor capabilities significantly improved key features of the Galaxy S23 series, such as selfie portrait and video autofocus.
The Expert RAW app, first released on the Galaxy S22 series, now supports 50MP resolution on the rear camera and has been expanded to support the front camera.
To provide the best capturing, editing and sharing experience, SRI-B engineers have contributed to the development of Photo Remaster and Object Eraser features.
On the Galaxy S23 series, it’s further enhanced with AI-Interactive Contour Segmentation, which allows users to draw around an object in a photo to select and convert it into objects and stickers that can be pasted onto another image. .
The multi-device user experiences of the Galaxy S23 series offer users even better connections and customizations to improve their daily lives. In particular, the Smart Lighting service developed by SRI-B focuses on improving users’ personal well-being.
SRI-B also participated in the development of seamless IoT device registration services called “Calm Technology” and has been part of the team that has created the world’s first Matter-certified IoT ecosystem device.
To enhance Galaxy’s One UI experience, the SRI-B team contributed to the device’s intelligence-based personalization, productivity, and automation features that bring convenience to consumers’ daily lives.
Smart suggestions based on phone usage proactively suggest app and app functionality, a security and privacy dashboard to see device status in one place, putting total control in the hands of consumers. When you share an image with private information in the Share Panel, it warns you in advance if you might inadvertently share sensitive information.
In addition, users can easily extract text from images and perform quick actions such as calls, emails, and navigation, etc. Students can take a screenshot and long press any text to easily copy, search, and translate such content.
