iPhone 15 Users Reportedly Experiencing Problems with Certain USB-C Power Banks
Cupertino-based tech giant Apple released the iPhone 15 series this year with USB-C ports, allowing compatibility with USB-C cables, USB-C power banks, and more. However, a new report now claims that USB-C power banks do not work properly with Apple’s iPhone 15 and users have reportedly experienced charging issues.
According to a report by MacRumors, not all current USB-C power banks are compatible with the iPhone 15 models, and that’s likely due to the iPhone’s reverse charging feature. In some cases, the iPhone 15 may not charge, or it may charge the power bank instead.
According to the report, this affects several different power banks, and since there are so many on the market, it’s impossible to list the models that don’t work.
“One version that doesn’t work is the Anker PowerCore Slim 10K PD, and a customer who contacted Anker was told that the only way to get the power bank to charge an iPhone is to use the USB-A port,” MacRumors said.
Due to the reverse charging feature of the iPhone 15 series, the USB-C port charging of the Anker PowerCore Slim 10K PD is affected and there is currently no solution for this issue. To charge iPhone, the only option is to use power banks with USB-A port, it added.
It also mentioned that Anker is doing more tests on power banks to see if this is an issue with certain power banks and trying to find a solution.
Meanwhile, Apple has released the first developer beta of iOS 17.1, along with some new features that didn’t make it to the final release of iOS 17. This developer beta update comes about two weeks after iOS 17 was released for compatible iPhones. iOS 17.1 is compatible with all iPhones that support iOS 17.
This means that all iPhones launched in 2018 and later will receive iOS 17.1 when the public version is released.
