Learn how Google SGE can assist in vacation planning and shopping recommendations
Google has made planning vacations more convenient with its latest update. The new feature, Search Generative Experience (SGE), utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to assist users in creating travel itineraries. By gathering information from different websites, user reviews, and photos, SGE suggests attractions, restaurants, flights, and hotels for your trip.
This feature is currently only available in US English to users enrolled in Search Labs and allows you to request specific itineraries, such as a three-day historic visit to Philadelphia, and receive a sample itinerary. Once you’re happy with your plan, you can export it to Gmail, Docs, or Maps, according to a Techcrunch report.
While there’s no way to buy services directly through Google yet, this update shows how the company is experimenting with artificial intelligence and gathering data about travel preferences. It also makes it easy to find recommendations on Google Maps, lists from publishers and other users, and tools to edit and organize your travel plans.
Personalized shopping recommendations from Google’s artificial intelligence
In addition to travel planning, Google SGE also improves its shopping experience. Now you can get personalized style recommendations when looking for clothes, shoes and accessories. Google Customize results based on your preferences by rating products with a thumbs up or down or swiping like Tinder. If you change your mind, you can easily manage your settings.
This update is currently available to US buyers using a mobile browser and the Google app. Google SGE aims to make shopping more personal and convenient, competing with other retail giants such as Amazon and Walmart.
With over a billion daily shopping searches and billions of products in search results, Google SGE continues to update listings regularly to provide the latest information on pricing and availability.
