Learn more about how the Nothing Phone allows discreet recording of phone calls.
At a time when most Android devices have a built-in call recording feature, Carl Pei’s tech company Nothing has joined the ranks and announced the addition of a new feature that will allow users to record calls discreetly.
Carl Pei announced on the official social media that the new feature will help users record calls on their devices without having to alert other participants in the call. He added that the feature will be available to all Nothing phone users, including those with Nothing Phone 1, Phone 2 and the recently launched Phone 2a.
According to his post, the call recording feature has been installed on Nothing’s phones via a new recorder widget. Previously, Nothing devices allowed users to take advantage of the call recording feature through the default setting.
However, this would notify other parties on the call that the conversation is being recorded. This time, users can turn on the feature without triggering alerts or notifications to others. “Many have requested discreet call recording on Nothing phones. This is now possible through the new recorder widget,” he said in the post.
Nothing’s CEO also emphasized that the new feature comes as a result of constant requests from users and aims to address the issue of notifying the other party while protecting users from unwanted situations.
Pei also answered several queries in the comments section, including one about revamping the notification panel on Nothing devices.
