Learn How to Repair Foldable Phones at Home
Flip phones are still a novelty that many of you don’t want to buy, and for good reason. Folded devices have a creaking screen that can cost a lot of money to fix and require better care when handling them.
But it’s slowly getting to the point where flip phones can be repaired at home, thanks to the various do-it-yourself (DIY) or self-repair programs available today.
Samsung sells several foldable models on the market, and the company has decided to add new products, now foldable, to its self-repair initiative. The South Korean has already joined hands with iFixit for its other flagship products, but using a foldable combo is definitely a big game changer.
So how do you fix a foldable phone in your living room? The company has a set of tools to help you fix a broken screen on the Galaxy Z Flip 5 or Galaxy Z Fold 5, the brand’s latest foldables.
We still don’t know how much Samsung plans to charge customers to help them get the parts and tools to fix these foldable devices. But according to pricing information, Pixel Fold self-repair costs $900 (roughly Rs. 72,000), so Samsung is likely to charge a similar range to repair its foldable devices at home.
Based on these reported figures, it goes without saying that people will not be forced to try a self-repair program at a cost of more than 1,000 million euros. At the end of the day, most people would like to have things repaired or repaired by experts who do it right.
Samsung’s self-repair program is not available in countries like India, but the country has set a roadmap for its own rules, which the government may announce in the near future.
