Man Expresses Outrage on Twitter After Amazon Sends Seeds Instead of Rs. 90,000 Camera Lens
Arun Kumar Meher’s experience during the shopping season has taken a nightmarish turn. Rather than enjoying his expensive purchase, he was left stunned when his order was mistakenly replaced with seeds. Meher had placed an order for a high-end camera lens on Amazon, but instead received a package filled with quinoa seeds.
Not one to take matters lightly, Meher took to Twitter and wrote, “Ordered a 90K INR Camera lens from Amazon, they have sent a lens box with a packet of quinoa seeds inside instead of the lens. Big scam from @amazonIN and Appario Retail. The lens box was also opened. In response, Amazon support got in touch and assured Meher that they were looking into the matter.
Then Meher asked, “..please resolve it as soon as possible and send me the lens I ordered or refund my money.” The post was dated July 7th and there was no further update after that. However, this exchange was enough to send Twitterati over the edge! They shared their own horror stories.

Many took to Twitter to complain that they had experienced similar issues. Girija Panigrahi revealed what happened to him last year. He had ordered a Sigma 150-600 lens, but Amazon sent a sewing machine!
Another user claimed to have received rice instead of the speakers they ordered!
A user named Vaibhav Gadodia even found the return policy flawed and said, “Their return policy is strange. I had a scenario where I had to return a valuable camera as well. Now when the person came to take the return, his checklist required to return the camera bag along. Challenge? The product does not come with a camera case. with. So the return was not processed.”
