Mozilla Launches Final Firefox Update For Older Windows and macOS Systems
Mozilla has recently launched the final significant update for the Firefox browser on older versions of Windows and macOS.
“Microsoft will end support for Windows 7 and Windows 8 in January 2023. As a result, this will be the last version of Firefox that users of those operating systems will receive,” the company said Tuesday in its release notes.
Windows 7 and Windows 8 users will be automatically upgraded to Firefox ESR 115 to continue receiving important security updates.
“Similarly, this is the last major version of Firefox that supports Apple macOS 10.12, 10.13 and 10.14.”
Users of these operating systems will also be migrated to the ESR 115 version of the browser to continue receiving important updates.
When switching from another browser, users can now transfer payment methods saved in Chrome-based browsers to Firefox with a new update.
Additionally, the Tab Manager dropdown menu now includes close buttons to help users close tabs more quickly.
The company also mentioned that Undo and Redo are now available in Password fields. “
Windows Magnifier now tracks the text cursor correctly when the Firefox title bar is visible,” it added.
