NASA Uncovers Startling Increase in Carbon Emissions

For years, scientists have been educating us about the impact of greenhouse gases on the environment, including the rise of carbon dioxide levels and its contribution to global warming. Despite this knowledge, we were unable to witness the effects firsthand. Recently, NASA has unveiled three startling videos that depict the fluctuation of carbon emissions. These videos provide a clear view of the specific areas where these harmful greenhouse gases are being released.

NASA has released three videos depicting carbon dioxide emission targets in different global regions. These videos, which showcase carbon emissions in 2021, include color-coded emissions: orange for fossil fuels, red for biomass burning, green for land ecosystems, and blue for oceans. I

In these visual representations, the blue dots represent the huge amount of carbon uptake in ocean waters, while the green dots represent uptake by terrestrial producers.

The video shows that most of the emissions are over North and South America, while the Northeast region of the United States is the site of massive pollution.

The green above the Amazon forest represents the carbon uptake by trees during the day.

NASA’s blog explains that “new computer modeling techniques from NASA’s Global Modeling and Assimilation Office allow us to analyze our atmosphere and understand some of the key drivers of this runaway insulation.”

In the second clip, you can notice a yellow cloud over Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Although there are fewer agricultural combustion emissions above Central Africa.

Compared to other regions, Australia has a relatively low population density. Although a significant amount of pollution can be seen above Beijing in China.

These visual images clearly show how carbon emissions have a significant impact on the spread of heat radiation towards the earth’s surface and climate change.
